It's Our 1 Year Anniversary!!!

So it's the 1 year anniversary of The XY and since January began I've been reflecting on the past year and how much I've grown. I'm so grateful for The XY, it has always been more than just a blog to me; [I said a lot about the concept and idea behind The XY in my first blog post 'About The XY'; you can check it out by clicking the link above] I mentioned on my Instagram in an earlier post that The XY was born from a successful journey of self realization, it came to me at a point in my life where I had just, to a great extent figured out who I was after a long period of struggling with insecurities and major life decisions.
This is my baby and I am so proud of it and myself for how much I've evolved through this; because of this and how much I have learnt in the past year, especially how much I have discovered about myself.
There is a lot more coming this year with The XY; so much more!
More Collaborations!!! We're definitely gonna be having a lot more of those this year so look forward to that; I'm also gonna be working with a bunch of photographers this year!
New Features on the website!!! Maybe a whole new design even, who knows!
A new logo maybe?! I'm definitely thinking of taking a step towards re-branding so look forward to that!
CONSISTENCY!!! That is something I really need to work on, I blame it on school; I was in my final year in the university in 2017 and I also had a lot of extra curriculars attached to that so, lets go with that excuse. But, it's a new year and I'll do better.
There's definitely a lot more to look forward to this year.
Also, I just want to say thank you, for your love and support; The XY might just not have been here today without your support and I really can't thank you enough. This is gonna be an amazing year for all of us.

Channeling The 90's

For this look, I decided to rock with the 90's. This look was inspired by the 90's hip hop era; I'm talking bout the likes of LL Cool J, Will Smith, Aaliyah, TLC, Tupac and all of that 90's hip hop swag.
I enjoy their fashion as much as I enjoy their music and I just want to share a piece of it with you.
I hope you like it...

2. Ari fitz (@itsarifitz)

I feel like with her.. the inspiration is not necessarily with what she wears.. With Ari, its the vibe she gives.. the inspiration is in her level of comfort in her skin, in her brand, in who she is and the image she represents. Don't get me wrong, Ari fitz is mad fashionable.. but for me her style comes from within. And that's the vibe I feed off.
Oh and, this look inspired my Main defense outfit.

3. Denola Grey (@denolagrey)

He's a Baby Boy! No questions asked! The androgyny is so perfect. Actually..It never looked so good.

Hello!!! One time for Wendy Ntinezo!! Her style is so relate-able.. with me. And well, she's not so much of a tomboy, but her tomboy style is definitely one to fall in love with.

Jiggy to Work

For this look I decided to go for a vintage street style look. I got on a waist coat, worn over a white tee and paired that up with a pair of white sneakers for a more casual look. I felt like the outfit wasn't totally complete so I threw on a silk scarf and it kind of pulled the look together and I think that gave it the street style vibe.
I hope you like it..
