Work Fit for your Closet

Today I decided to talk about corporate wear. I'm personally a fan of the corporate look; so for this post I decided to style a very easy to pull off corporate outfit.
For this look, I paired a black polo shirt paired with black pants, a double ring belt and black laceup oxford shoes.
For the other look its basically the same fit but in lighter tones for people who prefer lighter colors; I paired a white polo shirt with light brown checkered pants, a brown belt. black socks and brown oxford laceups.

Wardrobe Essentials - Styling Shorts

Wardrobe Essentials is a segment of The XY where I talk about go-to clothing items that everyone should have in their wardrobe.

For today's look at Wardrobe Essentials, I decided to do a quick run on Shorts. Shorts are a very common fashion item; the most casual and most flexible piece of clothing ever if you ask me, not to mention the most comfortable, especially during the summer.

For this post I decided to style two looks in the same pair of shorts; paired with a white tee, a Button up shirt and low top sneakers. You can rock these looks to a party, the club, almost anywhere and at anytime of the day as long as its not a formal event, Of course. Shorts are very easy to dress up, and its a go to fashion item everyone should own.

It's Our 1 Year Anniversary!!!

So it's the 1 year anniversary of The XY and since January began I've been reflecting on the past year and how much I've grown. I'm so grateful for The XY, it has always been more than just a blog to me; [I said a lot about the concept and idea behind The XY in my first blog post 'About The XY'; you can check it out by clicking the link above] I mentioned on my Instagram in an earlier post that The XY was born from a successful journey of self realization, it came to me at a point in my life where I had just, to a great extent figured out who I was after a long period of struggling with insecurities and major life decisions.
This is my baby and I am so proud of it and myself for how much I've evolved through this; because of this and how much I have learnt in the past year, especially how much I have discovered about myself.
There is a lot more coming this year with The XY; so much more!
More Collaborations!!! We're definitely gonna be having a lot more of those this year so look forward to that; I'm also gonna be working with a bunch of photographers this year!
New Features on the website!!! Maybe a whole new design even, who knows!
A new logo maybe?! I'm definitely thinking of taking a step towards re-branding so look forward to that!
CONSISTENCY!!! That is something I really need to work on, I blame it on school; I was in my final year in the university in 2017 and I also had a lot of extra curriculars attached to that so, lets go with that excuse. But, it's a new year and I'll do better.
There's definitely a lot more to look forward to this year.
Also, I just want to say thank you, for your love and support; The XY might just not have been here today without your support and I really can't thank you enough. This is gonna be an amazing year for all of us.

Channeling The 90's

For this look, I decided to rock with the 90's. This look was inspired by the 90's hip hop era; I'm talking bout the likes of LL Cool J, Will Smith, Aaliyah, TLC, Tupac and all of that 90's hip hop swag.
I enjoy their fashion as much as I enjoy their music and I just want to share a piece of it with you.
I hope you like it...
